“We are your children, Ukraine”

Love Ukraine when asleep or awake
The glamorous your Ukraine
The beauty of it, always alive and new
And language of hers full of charm.

The Charitable Fund “Caritas of Ivano-Frankivsk UGCC”, realizing the project objectives of “Club of the elderly people “Nadvechir” (supported by the German Fund “Remembrance. Responsibility. Future”), for a long time organizes and conducts the meetings “Dialogues of generations”.

On the 7^th of December, 2011 in the Center of students’ patriotic education named in honor to Stepan Bandera the competition of patriotic song was held “We are your children, Ukraine”, which aims at developing the youth patriotism and national dignity.

Over 100 people took part in the competition, including representatives from 20 schools in Ivano-Frankivsk and vocational students. The guests of the competition were Ostarbeiters, repressed political prisoners, disabled young people.

It has become a tradition for workers of CF “Caritas” to begin any event with the blessing of Mitred Archpriest Father Volodymyr Chorniy. The tradition was performed on this day too. The contest began with the blessing of Mitred Archpriest Father, who in his welcoming, thanked all those present people for their high patriotism and heroic courage, the unconquerable faith and love to Ukraine.

The Executive Director of CF “Caritas of IvanoFrankivsk UGCC” Natalya Kozakevych thanked all the contestants, the guests and the Administration of the Center of patriotic education for their assistance in organizing the competition.

And then the Ukrainian patriotic song sounded... Melodies of the songs stirred the soul of everyone, took them back in the distant past ... All these moments gave people joy and hope and belief that their deeds and sufferings were not in vain, that Ukraine still has the power to rise up and become rich and distinctive. Because until you hear a Ukrainian word and song, the Ukrainian people will live forever.

At the end of the festival all the contestants were awarded the diplomas and sweets, the winners were awarded the diplomas and valuable gifts.
