Workers of CF "Caritas of Ivano-Frankivsk UGCC" made hard work of the project "Expanding the range of social services for single and low-income elderly people by providing targeted social assistance in the form of food and medicines." For six months they visited precarpathians from house to housel, most of them living in the remotest villages of the area, so as no one else they need care and attention. Assistance from Caritas due to IRF was received by poor single people aged from 55 to 93 years, who don’t have any care and support from their relatives. Today they are grateful for the great support of Caritas, which helped them to improve health and quality of life. "Dear employees of the Foundation of "Caritas of Ivano-Frankivsk UGCC"! I sincerely thank you for such a great help rendered by you. For us, single people, it is very nice that someone else has such a pure heart. Drugs and foods that you gave us, made a big deal. Warmed senile heart, "treated our souls," gave us warmth and attention. Love your dear people around you that what Jesus Christ taught us himself – all know about this, but, unfortunately, not everyone hastens to support those who are in distress. Fortunately, there are people who care about the fate of others. Among them and You are. I want to say thank you to people with good heart "(Ivan Zhovnir and Olenyuk John from village Holyn, village Uhryniv, Kalush district."
On the initial stage during the first visit to the purchaser of the project to determine its needs, it was found that people, especially rural health workers need advice on the use of drugs, prevention of chronic diseases, diet and daily regime. That is why during distribution of targeted assistance of project by social worker is always accompanied by a medical officer Information and Advisory Center of socio - medical unit "Home care", which provided individual consultation to wards.

"I just want to say thank you to people with good heart" - responds Zhovnir John, a resident of the village Holyn about anti-crisis project of Ivano-Frankivsk Caritas. Mr. John is one of the 202 Precarpathian citizens who received food and medical supplies from Caritas in targeted assistance of this program. The project lasted from the 20th of May to the 20th of November with the support of International Fund "Renaissance" (IRF).
The resident of Ivano-Frankivsk Malaniuk Anna expressed her thank to Caritas: "I sincerely thank you for your honorable work, for the warmth of the soul and heart that warms our lonely fates. I am a very sick person, spending a lot of money on medicines. This help means much to me, because I have money in savings harvesting vegetables for winter, as I have no other help."
The main task that we set is to improve the quality of life for 202 lonely and needy persons. The best part was watching the changing attitude to their lives of those who received this assistance. We have seen that for a person in old age sometimes it is much more important to reveal attention to her, very personal communication. We achieved this goal, we improved an access of the elderly people to ensure their physiological needs, providing assistance in food, medicines and care. But there is another positive result : for an old person this assistance is a sign that she is not alone and not rejected by society, because she cannot get drugs in any pharmacy,"- shared his impressions of the project his social worker Mykola Mazuryk.
