From May, 9 till 12, 2011 in CF «Caritas Ivano-Frankivsk UGCC» there was delegation of partners with a visit from Caritas of diocese Fulda in complement of Dr. Chistian Scharf – Press and Public Relations, Bernd Wystrach – workshop manager of Caritas Fulda, Kristin Klinzing – representative of social subsection «Home care», Mechthild Klockner-Franz – member of Workshop team which works with disabled people and Gisela Albersmeyer – member of paternal committee, from a family with child working in workshop for handicapped persons

 The primary purpose of visit was to give to disabled people greater mobility through the transmission to Caritas a special car for their transportation.

 During 3-daily staying the German partners had a possibility to see and estimate activity of Center of leisure and social adaptation of young people with functional limitations.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  On May, 9, 2011 on the basis of Caritas working meeting with parents took place, guardians of young people and workers of project, during which the problems were discussed, with which parents run daily. During a dialog parents told, with what limitations they meet as a result of disability of child, how was a contact with Caritas, what labour they are engaged in in workshops, what rehabilitation measures are conducted with young people.

The representatives of Caritas Fulda shared the experience of the organized work with disabled people in Germany. Especially it was interesting to know, what activity is executed by the parents of young people in an order to facilitate their reintegration in society. Such exchange experience gave a shock to the origin of new ideas about the involving of the Ukrainian parents to activity in life of Center and Caritas in Ivano-Frankivsk.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         During meeting for the German partners it one of the directions of work with young people was presented – a conducting of art-therapy with participation of psychologist.

In the second half of day delegation from Fulda familiarized with activity of other social projects of Caritas, in particular: charitable canteen, Consultative center of social help for the victims from trafficing people and Informative- consultative center «Home care».

 On May, 10, 2011 in the first half of day guests from Germany had a journey to the hospital for mental illnesses in Pidmyhaylya village, Rogatyn region, where saw, in what terms patients are and single people of old age live.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Also they visited the department of rehabilitation, which is on the outskirts of village which patients are in, after a long duration treatment, through trudotherapy they renew skills and abilities got before.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    That day an excursion took place to Lviv. The workers of Caritas Fulda familiarized with historical sights and architectural buildings of the city, visited the laboratory of alchemist of museum-pharmacy, admired beauty of ancient churches, princely churches, cathedral  of St. Juriy – the sainted promoter of Lviv, monuments of T. Shevchenko, and I. Fedor. Breathing of ancient city filled with guests the pleasant impressions and positive emotions.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 The third day of staying was marked by a solemn event – transmission of special car for transportation of disabled people. After the solemn transmission of the keys director of CF Caritas Ivano-Frankivsk UGCC» to father-mitrat Volodymyr Chorniy was held consecration of the car by ruling a bishop Volodymyr Viytyshyn.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        After a transmission a press-conference took place in conference-hall of Caritas with participation of journalists printing and internet publishing, local television. At the beginning of conference a father Volodymyr Chorniy thanked on behalf of Caritas and parents for a special car. Doctor Chistian Scharf passed the congratulatory word of Dr. Markus Yuch – director of Caritas Diocese Fulda.

Mister Bernd Wystrach acquainted all the present with a specific workings workshops in Caritas Fulda. For today there are at about 1200 disabled people under their tutelage which daily work in 5 workshops. On a due levels a transport section has been developed, which counts over 20 cars, that transport children and youth every day to Caritas and home back. A developed  network of two social dormitories in which about 100 disabled persons live.

For today, according to the words of Bernd, Caritas in Ivano-Frankivsk is on the that stage, on what Caritas Fulda was 40 years ago. All began from organization of leisure for disabled persons, and stage-by-stage engulfed all new work assignments. Gradually their work developed and perfected. And now outgrew on a high-quality level. For today they have workers, including disabled, it and joiner, turner, packers which perform the order from private companies.

Caritas Diocese of Fulda will assist the development of potential of local Ivano-Frankivsk Caritas. We are together sure that by joint efforts we will able also to integrate the greater amount of disabled persons in society. And the experience of Caritas Fulda is an outstanding help for workers, young people and their parents. Only together  we will overcome the public insulativity of children-invalids, will promote them to the professional studies and employment.
